Your Task

Locate Centers and Symmetry

Use the Lesson 1.4 model and views to identify the circular feature and the axis that passes through it.

  1. Find the view where the circular feature appears directly and mark its exact center.
  2. Add crossing centerlines using the correct long-short pattern.
  3. Check another view and show the same feature axis where it is useful.
  4. State whether the whole part, the circular feature, or both are symmetrical.

Quality check: Centerlines must cross at the true feature center and must not be confused with hidden lines.

What You Will Submit

Centerline and Symmetry Study

Submit evidence that connects the centerline pattern to a real feature or axis.

  • One corrected drawing showing the circular center and the related axis in one or two views.
  • One sentence identifying whether the symmetry applies to the feature, the whole part, or both.

Submission standard: Extend centerlines only far enough beyond the feature to remain clear and readable.
