Develop an Engineering Change Request

Identify one evidence-based improvement to the rocket assembly and document it as a controlled proposal.

  1. Define the current problem using observations, measurements, fit issues, or user needs.
  2. Create a before-and-after sketch showing the proposed change and affected components.
  3. Identify impacts on relevant parts, materials, assembly steps, cost, risk, or performance.
  4. Write measurable acceptance criteria and a test or inspection method.

Quality check: The request must be specific enough for another engineer to implement and verify.

What You Will Submit

Rocket Engineering Change Request

Submit one controlled change document and one decision summary.

  • One completed ECR containing the problem, proposed change, reason, affected items, and a labeled before-and-after sketch.
  • One verification and recommendation summary stating the acceptance criteria and whether the team recommends approval, revision, or rejection.

Submission standard: Preserve the original design record and identify which documents would need a later revision.
