Map the Rocket as an Interacting System

Analyze the rocket as a set of connected functional groups rather than unrelated pieces.

  1. Group the major components by function, such as structure, stability, connection, or recovery.
  2. Create a map showing components and their physical or functional interfaces.
  3. Label what each connection transfers or controls.
  4. Trace one cause-and-effect chain showing how a loose, missing, or changed component affects the assembly.

Quality check: Every connection on the map must describe a real relationship such as alignment, support, force transfer, or motion.

What You Will Submit

Rocket Assembly System Map

Submit one visual system model and one cause-and-effect explanation.

  • One labeled system map grouping components and naming the relationships between them.
  • One written cause-and-effect chain explaining how a component problem could influence the larger assembly.

Submission standard: Use arrows with relationship labels; do not submit only a list of parts.
