Hands-on requirement

After passing the online test, complete a supervised CNC workflow. Your teacher will approve the hands-on portion from the teacher dashboard.

Student must demonstrate

  • Identify approved material and correct stock dimensions.
  • Review the CAD/CAM setup and toolpath simulation before cutting.
  • Select the correct bit/tool and confirm it is secure.
  • Secure stock with approved workholding and keep the toolpath clear of clamps.
  • Set or verify work zero under teacher direction.
  • Run a supervised dry run/air cut or preview and monitor the real cut safely.
  • Stop the machine safely for unexpected noise, movement, smoke, tool breakage, or loose stock.
  • Clean chips/dust and return tools/materials after the machine fully stops.
