Hands-on requirement

After passing the online test, complete a supervised soldering workflow. Your teacher will approve the hands-on portion from the teacher dashboard.

Student must demonstrate

  • Set up the soldering station with ventilation/fume extraction.
  • Handle the iron safely and return it to the stand when not in use.
  • Prepare wire/component leads and use appropriate soldering technique.
  • Create an acceptable solder joint without bridges or cold-joint defects.
  • Inspect the joint and correct problems safely when directed.
  • Shut down, clean the station, and wash hands after handling soldering materials.

Badge unlock rule

  • Online test score of 80% or higher
  • Teacher-observed hands-on completion
  • Safe independent readiness for supervised soldering
  • Proper inspection, shutdown, and cleanup habits
