Hands-on requirement

After passing the online test, complete a supervised workflow using measuring/marking tools, clamps, and an approved cutting or finishing tool. Your teacher will approve the hands-on portion through your classroom approval process.

Student must demonstrate

Select the correct tool for the material and task.
Measure and mark material clearly before cutting.
Secure the material with a clamp, vise, or approved fixture.
Cut away from the body and keep hands out of the blade path.
Use files, deburring tools, or sanding blocks safely to finish edges.
Return tools and clean the station before leaving.

Teacher approval requirements

Online test score of 80% or higher
Teacher-observed hands-on completion
Safe independent readiness for supervised hand/cutting tool use
Proper cleanup and tool storage habits
