Hands-on requirement

After passing the online test, complete a supervised drill press workflow. Your teacher will approve the hands-on portion through your classroom approval process.

Student must demonstrate

Wear required PPE and secure hair, hoodie strings, jewelry, and loose clothing.
Select the correct drill bit and verify it is properly seated and tightened.
Remove the chuck key before powering the machine.
Clamp or otherwise secure the workpiece correctly.
Drill with controlled pressure and clear chips safely.
Stop the spindle fully before measuring, adjusting, cleaning, or removing the workpiece.

Teacher approval requirements

Online test score of 80% or higher
Teacher-observed hands-on completion
Safe independent readiness for supervised drill press use
Proper cleanup and tool shutdown habits
