Hands-on requirement

After passing the online test, complete a supervised drill press workflow. Your teacher will approve the hands-on portion from the teacher dashboard.

Student must demonstrate

  • Wear required PPE and secure hair, hoodie strings, jewelry, and loose clothing.
  • Select the correct drill bit and verify it is properly seated and tightened.
  • Remove the chuck key before powering the machine.
  • Clamp or otherwise secure the workpiece correctly.
  • Drill with controlled pressure and clear chips safely.
  • Stop the spindle fully before measuring, adjusting, cleaning, or removing the workpiece.

Badge unlock rule

  • Online test score of 80% or higher
  • Teacher-observed hands-on completion
  • Safe independent readiness for supervised drill press use
  • Proper cleanup and tool shutdown habits
